The ONYX end socket is designed for SAT-TV systems (multiswitch and with RTV-SAT adder). Each RTV-SAT installation should be terminated with a socket, because thanks to them the separation of signals is realized: R, TV, 2 * SAT. The socket has a very good electrical fit.
The socket is used for connecting PVR (Personal Video Recorder) tuners - a two-head tuner with a hard disk. A tuner of this type needs access to two independent satellite signals. In order to be able to mount this type of socket, it is necessary to place two coaxial cables in advance (we recommend DIGITSAT 102), between the multiswitch and the box intended for mounting the socket.
Another application of the socket is the implementation of the return channel. In such a situation, two DIGITSAT 102 cables are also required, but one cable is used to transmit the so-called return channel signal. This channel transmits the modulated signal from the tuner to the point where the TV amplifier is located. The modulated TV signal is added to the antenna signal.
