The PAD-820 antenna preamplifier is designed to amplify weak terrestrial TV signals received by the receiving antenna of ASR series. ASR series antennas have a built-in PAD preamplifier. The purchase of a new one is only required in case of damage to the original one.
The PAD-820 preamplifier is designed for use in ASR antennas only. The device is powered via a coaxial cable from the output side. Due to the wide range of permissible supply voltages 5-12V, the amplifier in question can be powered directly from a tuner or TV set (the above devices must be able to expose DC 5V voltage), or through an external power separator (with a power supply) type ZZA-7.
