Large capacity
The disk capacity is up to 2 TB. This allows you to save, store, archive or conveniently transport a very large number of documents, photos, music, movies, games and programs.
Fast transfer
The drive communicates with devices via a universal SATA III connector with bandwidth up to 6 Gb/s. Its rotational speed is 7200 revolutions per minute. The reading time is 0.5 milliseconds. These parameters guarantee very high disk performance, instant access to files and fast reading and writing data.
Quiet operation
The noise level produced by the drive during operation is only 28 decibels. Thanks to this, it is extremely comfortable in everyday use, and mounted in an external housing or computer becomes barely audible.
S.M.A.R.T.
Hard drive error monitoring and notification system. By monitoring multiple operating parameters by the drive, the drive can assess its status and warn the operating system and computer user in the event of a high probability of failure. S.M.A.R.T technology is used in ATA/IDE, SCSI/SAS and SATA hard drives and SSDs.
SATA III
The maximum bandwidth of this interface is 6 Gbit/s, which is more than twice the SATA II and slightly higher than Ultra 640 SCSI. Full backward compatibility with SATA I and SATA II is maintained, making migration from previous versions to SATA 3 seamless. Support for Command Queuing (NCQ) has also been improved, queuing management has been improved and a new streaming command has been introduced to enable isochronous data transfer. In March 2009, Seagate teamed up with AMD to unveil the first devices with SATA 3 interface. The first hard drive with a SATA 3 connector that appeared in the commercial offer in September 2009 was Seagate Barracuda XT (model ST32000641AS).
Advanced Format
Technology introduced by disc manufacturers and other drive manufacturers to improve media format performance and increase available drive capacity. The technology changes the design of the platters and replaces the 512-byte sector, eight times larger, offering 4096 bytes.
