The paint thickness gauge GL-6s, GL-6Hs is used to measure the thickness of the lacquer layer applied to steel, galvanized steel or aluminum car sheet. It has a measuring probe placed on the cable.
Measurement relative to reference point
With this function, we can perform measurements relative to the selected point. The function is useful when comparing several tested places in the car. For example, we select the reference point on the left front door, and then make measurements on other parts of the car (previously select in the MENU in the MATERIAL option "Point odn"). In this way, when measuring, for example, on the roof, we get a result of -10um, which means that the roof has a layer of varnish thinner by 10um than the left front door. The reference point is not erased when the meter is turned off.
In addition, this function can be used to program another type of sheet metal (other metals). When setting the reference point, it is enough to do it on a clean sheet and from now on, after choosing the material as "Point odn", we will be able to make measurements on such a sheet.
