Opal outdoor dual technology detector
OPAL is an outdoor dual technology motion detector, which is ideal for use both outside the protected building and in interiors with difficult or specific environmental conditions (e.g. halls, sheds). The OPAL detector is equipped with PIR and MW technologies, as well as an anti-masking function implemented by the microwave path. The dual technology, combined with the detector's autoadaptation algorithm to environmental conditions, ensures high resistance to false alarms and thus stable operation in difficult weather conditions such as rain, snow, sunshine and strong air blasts. The device offers correct operation over a wide temperature range: from -40°C to +55°C, and changes in ambient temperature are automatically compensated for.
The OPAL detector features a detection angle of up to 100 degrees and a range of more than 15 metres. The area underneath the detector is also protected, so that any attempt by an intruder to approach the device to damage or break it will be detected. In addition, the software of the OPAL series detectors is designed to ensure that the movement of small pets does not cause false alarms.
Also unique is the device's housing, which uses two-component injection moulding technology. This has resulted in a splash-proof construction with an IP54 rating, providing the OPAL electronics with protection against harmful atmospheric phenomena. The detector housing is also characterised by high mechanical strength and UV resistance. To further protect the unit against precipitation and dirt, it is possible to mount the HOOD C (white) or HOOD C GY (grey) protective canopy on the housing.
The design of the OPAL detector allows it to be mounted directly on a flat surface. If the detector is to be tilted vertically or horizontally, special brackets - angle or ball - from the sets must be used: BRACKET E and BRACKET C (white) or BRACKET C GY (grey).
To increase the detector's distance from the wall, even by several centimetres, it is necessary to use a BRACKET E bracket.
The OPAL detector is available in two colour versions: white (OPAL) and grey (OPAL GY).
