Welcome to Nightmareland - a place full of spooky secrets! Find out what lurks in the dusty recesses of a hilltop mansion, take a walk through a creepy swamp and, if you're brave enough, see if a witch really does live in a hidden cave!
Get on the Ghost Train is an easy-to-learn and fast-paced instalment of the popular family game series, perfect for introducing younger players to the game. During the game, children and parents will collect special colourful platform cards that allow them to occupy successive sections on the Nightmare map.
What does it involve?
- At the very beginning of the game, all participants receive 2 ticket cards each. These are our targets that indicate the places on the Nightmare Park map that we will want to connect to each other.
- In order to create a connection, we have to play a set of platform cards that corresponds in colour and number to the section we want to occupy.
- In our turn we can do one of two things: draw cards or create a connection.
- When we have succeeded in our goal with a ticket card, we put it aside and draw another card.
- The game ends when one player realises the sixth ticket is the winner!
Why will you love this game?
- In relation to the classic versions of Boarding a Train, this one is adapted for younger players: the sections on the board are shorter, the carriages are larger, and the different places on the map and on the ticket cards are represented not only by names but also by pictures, so that the child does not need to be able to read to play independently.
- Some of the rules have also been simplified, e.g. platform cards are only selected blindly, which reduces the adult advantage in strategy building. Additionally, tickets have no point value and the game is a race to see who can complete the 6 routes first.
- Boarding the Phantom Train is a full-fledged alternative core game with its own atmosphere. Players visit Nightmareland, where they are greeted by charmingly spooky graphics and special haunted carriages!
