Step on the gas and straight to your destination!
The countdown begins and a loud roar cuts through the air as the cars take off. This is the start of the Grand Prix! As you enter the first corner, the dust and wind blow against your helmet. You pull as much as you can from the engine and almost fall off the track, but you grip the steering wheel tighter and slide through, still in first place. However, in order to keep it, you'll have to test the limits of your car's capabilities. Can your racer handle the maximum load? Or will the engine fail on the last corner?
Turbo is an exciting board game that will transport you to the driver's seat participating in the chaotic races of the 1960s. Its main mechanism is simple and intuitive card management. Selecting the right upgrades will allow your racer to enter the corners better, as well as ensuring that you stay cool and maintain the highest possible speed. Ultimately, however, it all depends on your skills!
What does it involve?
During the game, participants race around the track for a set number of laps to determine the best driver.
- At the start of each round, players can change gears, which affects how many cards they will be able to play. We can change this value gradually or use a special turbo card.
- The cards control the speed of the car the vehicle moves as many fields forward on the race track as the sum of the card values.
- Players, i.e. high speed enthusiasts, usually want to play cards with high values as quickly and as often as possible. However, racing requires skill in navigating the track. It is worth paying attention to the speed limits on the corners, otherwise the car may overheat.
- Driving too brashly can end up off the track. If anyone is interested in a place on the podium, we recommend controlling the speed and taking care of the engine!
- This exciting racing game is actually a duel in efficient hand management. Players choose their actions simultaneously and have to take into account what happens on the track in the meantime. They also try to optimise their moves and make the most of their cards.
- As in real car racing, the players' machines are subject to a number of factors that must be kept in mind. Overheating, aerodynamics or the physics of entering corners make planning the next moves very complex!
- In the box you will find an additional manual full of innovative solutions and extensions that will add variety to the gameplay for advanced drivers. These will allow players to personalise their cars and introduce variable weather conditions to the track.
- The legends module allows the addition of standalone legendary drivers in single-player gameplay. Legendary drivers can also provide additional variety in multiplayer.
