Superfarmer Badger Game (UA)
Superfarmer Borsuk in a limited edition is not only a new animal, but also a tribute to the legendary creator of this game - Professor Karol Borsuk.
Superfarmer is a game that was created in Warsaw in 1943. At that time it was called "Breeding Animals". It was created by an outstanding Polish mathematician, professor Karol Borsuk. When the Germans closed down the University of Warsaw, the professor was left without a job. During the war, people performed miracles of ingenuity in their search for a livelihood. The professor's idea to save the family budget was to sell games. The sets for "Raising Animals" were prepared at home by the professor's wife, Zofia Borsukowa. The author of the drawings of the animals was Mrs Janina Śliwicka. The game became very popular - first among friends of the family, and then in ever wider circles of acquaintances and strangers. The telephone rang at the Borsuk family home, and every now and then the question could be heard in the receiver: "Is this a pet game? Once confirmed, the order was placed and the games were delivered to the shop.
The game entertained not only children but also adults, helping them to survive the sad evenings of occupation. The original copies of the game were burned down along with the city during the Warsaw Uprising, in August 1944. Luckily, one of the copies was preserved outside Warsaw and returned to the Borsuk family many years after the war.
In June 1997, on the initiative of Zofia Borsukowa, on the occasion of her 90th birthday and the 15th anniversary of the death of Professor Karol Borsuk, "Raising Animals" was published by Granna under the title "Superfarmer" to entertain subsequent generations of children and parents.
