Bonfire - Polish edition

It's not just people who need light. For us gnomes, it is equally necessary. Unfortunately, it was through the arrogance and pride of these aggrieving beings that the Guardians of Light left us. They went to their sacred islands, and our world plunged into darkness. However, we did not give up and followed them. We have learned that if we only show good will and humbly set to work, the Sacred Bonfires will shine again with their miraculous splendour. So we get to work. We know that other gnome tribes want to do the same, but we will be better!

Bonfire, the latest work of Stefan Feld, will take us to the land of holy Bonfires, their Guardians and gnomes, trying to re-illuminate the darkened world. Players who try to make this art on their behalf will have the pleasure of encountering the beautiful graphic design of the game, designed by Dennis Lohausen, the author of graphics for such popular titles as Terra Mystica or Feasts for Odin.

Bonfire is a strategy fantasy game, having its world premiere in 2020 by Hall Games. Lasting about an hour and a half, the game will take 1-4 players to the world of Sacred Fire, their Guardians and gnomes trying to rekindle the lights of the dark world.

Expedition for light
Bonfire, as is usually the case in Feld's games, is a point salad, with a lot of elements, even the smallest of which can be important for the final result of the game. You will spend the acquired action tokens on a number of activities: receiving tasks, building paths and portals, moving Guardians of Light, lighting Option Bonfires is really a lot.

In-game play
In the game, the key role is played by individual player boards, thanks to which you will acquire resources necessary to perform specific actions. Their acquisition will be made possible by special Tiles of Fate, which will provide you with the more benefits, the better configuration they will be arranged with each other. Mini puzzle game at its best!

Nothing is the same
You will sit down to this title not once, not two and not three. You will certainly spend a large number of hours on it, and all thanks to its replayability. A huge number of tasks that go hand in hand with an equally huge number of cards, a lot of tiles and chips and a lot of interrelated mechanisms, while quickly played turns In Bonfire you will not play two identical games.

Complex mechanics
Stefan Feld specializes in Euro games, complex and diverse games. This was the case in Trajan, where the player had to direct ancient Rome, and so it was in the medieval Castles of Burgundy. The situation is no different with Bonfire, except that for a change it is a fantastic world. You will find here a lot of unique tokens, tiles and cards. Each element affects all the others, one mechanism affects the next In Bonfire we will not play two identical games. I love elaborate strategies. Will this move be beneficial? Do I have the right conditions to do this? This play will give me a lot of benefits, but only at the right time, so maybe it's better to focus on something else? Stefan Feld.

Beauty of workmanship
The extensive gameplay is accompanied by the huge contents of the box. In Bonfire we will find as many as five boards, including the Main Board, which due to mechanics and size we can easily divide into two. On the former, gnomes will set out by boat to the sacred islands, on the latter they will sit in the circle of the council of elders around the ancient Fire. The graphic design was taken care of by Dennis Lohausen, the author of graphics for such unique titles as Terra Mystica or Feasts for Odin. And this time we are dealing with something unique. The board is beautiful, full of colors and expressiveness, perfectly matching dozens of components with wooden meeples, tokens and cards.
The components themselves also look great. When the work on the game mechanics dragged on, Lohausen had a lot of time to design, hence in Bonfire it will be difficult to find two similar-looking elements. Portal tiles, Resource Tokens, and even cards with images of gnomes, which could look the same to mechanics. Even they beat with beauty and diversity to the delight of our eyes.

A separate mention deserves Player Boards, depicting cities of gnome tribes. On each of them there is a chessboard on which players will place Tiles of Fate. Properly arranged tiles allow you to acquire resources, and the better we arrange them in a better configuration, the more resources we will get. Bonfire is therefore a mini puzzle game combined with an extensive strategy. This is the greatest beauty of Stefan Feld's work.
