Rules for the good of the substrate for the aquarium
Gravel is by far the most commonly used as a substrate in an aquarium. Gravel is a substrate for rooting plants, but it is not a source of inorganic substances and does not provide plants with any nutrients. In the trade we meet gravel with varying degrees of granulation. The most suitable gravel is one that becomes more compact over time, which improves the conditions for the development of shallow-rooted plants. The finest gravel is suitable for plant development.
In general, we can assume that the most suitable gravel is one that is in the range of 3 to 10 mm.
