By completing subsequent missions, the child exercises language skills. This book is a perfect supplement and extension of school material, thanks to which it arouses children's linguistic curiosity and strengthens their competences and self-confidence in English. The book contains tasks in various areas of linguistics, such as spelling and pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, as well as composing statements and creative writing.
All issues have a theoretical introduction in Polish, tasks developed in English are based on activities such as: solving crosswords, filling in gaps in sentences, looking for hidden words in crossword puzzles and word puzzles, creating your own statements, describing illustrations.
The child learns the prefixes dis-, mis-, un-, inter-, re-, super-, as well as the suffixes -er, -ness, -ion, learns to build adverbs by adding -ly to an adjective (simple simply), learns the suffix -ous, learns examples of sounds pronounced the same but written differently, improves the pronunciation of long vowels, learns to use shortened forms (do not dont), learns homophones, i.e. words with different meanings but sounding the same. Expands your vocabulary of conjunctions (or, and, but, when, if, because, while, before, after), prepositions (in, on, next to, under, behind), adverbs (soon, later, inside, outside, everywhere, nearby), learns what personal pronouns are (I, you, he, she, it, we, they), improves knowledge of the Present Simple tense, practices creating questions and negative sentences, using the apostrophe, learns to use the articles a and an.
In the part devoted to writing, the student learns what synonyms are, practices organizing his/her speech and describing facts, learns to divide the text into paragraphs, and improves describing the characters and the setting of the action. Plans your own story, focusing on all the elements of correct text creation, and develops the habit of checking the correctness and attractiveness of your own text. Glossaries with a list of more difficult words introduced in a given chapter, answers to tasks and Polish translations of instructions at the bottom of the page make the whole thing accessible and extremely effective.
For each solved task, the child earns emeralds, which can be "exchanged" for prizes at the end of the book. The engaging story about the adventures of Kim and Sami, which accompanies the reader throughout the book, also ensures an appropriate level of involvement.
"Minecraft. English. Megatasks. 9+" is an official edition licensed by Mojang, and the Polish edition was created in cooperation with an experienced English teacher and early childhood education methodologist. The series also includes Megatasks for younger Minecraft fans: seven- and eight-year-olds, and volumes for ten-, eleven- and twelve-year-olds are also being prepared.
We are aware that the level of English teaching in individual classes varies in Polish schools depending on the profile of the school and even the class the child attends. We are also aware that some children attend additional classes. Therefore, the age groups we provide on the cover and in the descriptions of books from the "Minecraft. English Megatasks" series should be treated as conventional. We recommend that you always choose a notebook appropriate to your child's language skills.
