i-tec MySafe USB-C Gen. 2/USB 3.0, external enclosure for 2x 2.5 SATA HDD/SSD drives is a enclosure for up to two 2.5 SATA HDD/SSD drives to connect to a computer, laptop or tablet via USB-C or USB 3.0 interface (USB 3.0 to USB-C cable and USB 3.0 to USB 3.0 cable are included). The USB connection provides fast and easy data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps via USB-C and up to 5 Gbps via USB 3.0. The USB-C interface is compatible with Thunderbolt 3. The durable aluminum chassis provides effective heat dissipation and protection for HDD/SSD drives.
One of the biggest advantages of this enclosure is the support for RAID arrays, which will allow you to either set a high level of data protection, or a very high data write speed, or to create a huge disk (consisting of two hard drives. RAID capabilities (if two hard drives are used):
- RAID 0: very fast data write speed (the enclosure is capable of interlacing write to both hard drives).
- RAID 1: a high level of data protection (the mirror enclosure writes identical data to both hard drives, and in the event of a failure of one of the hard drives, neither the data nor access to the data will be lost).
- JBOD / Standalone: in the system, the enclosure is perceived as two independent drives.
