Prescription Diet Feline c/d - a full-fledged, complete, dietary food for cats, reducing the risk of formation and recurrence of struvite urolithiasis. The diet has urine acidifying properties and contains controlled magnesium levels.

Indicate:

  • Initial therapeutic management in cats with feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD), including crystalluria and/or urolithiasis, regardless of their cause, with tenons in the urethra and with idiopathic feline cystitis.
  • Dissolution of sterile struvite stones
  • Long-term dietary management in cats prone to:
    • formation of crystals and stones of struvites, calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate** (reduction of incidence and recurrence).
    • the presence of tenons in the urethra (almost exclusively from struvite crystals or calcium phosphate).
    • idiopathic cystitis of cats (especially c/d™ Multicare Feline sachets and cans).

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy or lactation
  • Young age of the cat

During the diet, do not give substances that acidify urine.
Periodic urine testing is recommended to control pH.

For more information on this, you should contact your veterinarian.

Composition:

Rice, chicken meal (35%) and turkey, wheat, corn gluten meal, animal fat, digest, minerals, fish oil, soybean oil, vitamins, taurine, trace elements and beta-carotene. Preservatives and antioxidants.

Additional information
  • Do not administer urine acidifying substances when using c/d™ Multicare Feline
  • A periodic urine test should be performed to ensure that the desired urine pH is maintained and, if necessary, urinary tract infections should be combated.

Possibility of using other products

The only reasons for changing the c/d™ Multicare Feline diet to another one in the case of FLUTD may be as follows:

  • Dissolution of larger or numerous sterile struvite stones: Prescription Diet™ s/d™ Feline.
  • Treatment of FLUTD caused by the presence of urate, cystine or xanthine crystals: Prescription Diet™ k/d™ Feline.
  • **If calcium phosphate is in the form of brusite: Prescription Diet™ k/d™ Feline.

PROPERTIES

KEY BENEFITS

Magnesium
Phosphorus
Calcium

Reduced

It reduces the concentration in the urine of struvite-forming components (magnesium, ammonium (from protein), phosphates) and components forming oxalates.

Sodium

Controlled

It helps support healthy kidney function.

Citrate

Added

It forms soluble complexes with calcium, which prevents the formation of calcium oxalate crystals.

Target urine pH

Acid: pH 6.2-6.4

It limits the formation and clumping of struvite crystals and does not promote the formation of oxalate crystals.

Water

Raised in sachets and cans

It increases the volume of urine, which causes dilution of the components that make up urinary stones and reduces the recurrence of idiopathic FLUTD.

Forms of karma

4 (1 sachet, 1 can & 2 dry)

A larger choice makes it easier for the animal to accept the food.

Vitamin E
Beta-carotene

Added

Helps neutralize free radicals, which helps fight urolithiasis

Vitamin C

Not added

Vitamin C is a precursor of oxalates.
