Design: wear-resistant aluminum housing with robust, high-strength nylon/polyester cord with large hook, 6:1 gear ratio. The device has a chalk shredder that grinds the chalk just before pulling the string, thus preventing problems due to the oblique setting of the spool. The unlocked gear prevents the metal handle from turning when pulling out the string. The lid for quick and easy filling also serves as a secure closure.
